Roadbook Review: Eurogrip Trailhound Wild Tires - A True balance between on-road and off-road

The Test
The Roadbook editorial team tested the Eurogrip Trailhound Wild on a KTM 890 Adventure R, covering early 1,000 km of real-world riding. The test was conducted in mixed conditions, including dry and wet asphalt, evaluating the tyre across varying levels of grip and road quality. The focus of the test was real-world adventure use, with particular attention to stability, steering precision, comfort, and overall confidence on challenging road surfaces.

Key Quotes
“Noise levels are excellent: even with the visor open, there is no noticeable rolling hum, so they are highly rated for silence, stability, and directional precision.”

“The first impression is the roundness when leaning into corners. There is a very linear feeling on entry: neither a falling-in sensation nor the annoying self centering effect.”

“With these tires, I noticed no wobbling: even at 130 km/h the handlebars remain completely stable, as well as in the critical 70–80 km/h throttle-off phase.”

“In wet conditions they provide good confidence, but what impressed me most is mixed wet-dry asphalt: patchy conditions where you’re never sure what to expect… yet grip is there and the bike remains very predictable.”

“I think these Trailhound Wild are the perfect tires for imperfect roads.”

KEY RESULTS
The Trailhound Wild delivers composed and stable behaviour at motorway speeds, maintaining a planted front end with no noticeable oscillations even during throttle-off phases or load transfers.

Turn-in is smooth and progressive, with a rounded entry into corners that avoids abrupt falling-in or self-steering effects, resulting in a natural and intuitive riding feel.

In wet conditions and on patchy wet–dry surfaces, the tire maintains consistent and transparent behaviour, with predictable grip that supports rider confidence even when traction changes suddenly.

Comfort levels are high, with effective absorption of road imperfections and low rolling noise contributing to a refined and controlled riding experience on all types of asphalt.

Trailhound Wild - Test Ride in Malaysia

The Test
Excellent feedback received from a recent Trailhound Wild test ride in Malaysia on a BMW R1300GS fitted with 120/70 R19 (Front) and 170/60 R17 (Rear) Trailhound Wild tyres.

KEY RESULTS
The rider covered approximately 300 km in both wet and dry conditions and reported outstanding performance throughout the test. Full cornering was achieved at speeds of 160–170 km/h with exceptional grip and stability. Even when the footrests made contact with the road surface during aggressive cornering, the tyres maintained confidence-inspiring traction without any loss of control.

Overall, the feedback has been extremely positive, further validating the Trailhound Wild’s high-speed stability, cornering capability, and grip performance under demanding riding conditions.
